Please read Chapter 1-7 and Chapter 12 of Daniel. What do you see in the stories that might have helped Ancient Israel provide ethical guidance or emotional fulfillment? What do you see here that show something about how Ancient Israel taught the world "new ways to dream"?
Nebuchadezzar, the king of Babylon, had many friends who had looked up to him. He would take the hand of his people and carry off to the temple of his God in Babylon. Danieel had a different "job" to do. He refiled himself asking for permission from the cheif official to show favor towards him. Daniel only asked for small food and wine to drink and to treat thy servants in accordance with what is seen. Daniel did what he could to earn his needs.
ReplyDeleteNebuchadezzar, the king of Babylon, taking Daniel and his friends captive and giving them different names. The king ruled with power, and there were a lot of fights. He had a dream, but didn't understand what the dream was about. So Daniel interpreted the dream and saved him and his friends. Daniel did what he could to earn his needs. Also the Jews are sacrificing everything for what they believe which is a huge source of ethical guidance and emotional fulfillment for ancient Israel. The Jews never gave up their faith.
